Air fryer sweet potato fries have become a popular and healthier alternative to traditional deep-fried fries.
Ingredients
- 3 small sweet potatoes, scrubbed
- 2 tsp vegetable oil
- ¼ tsp dried oregano
- ¼ tsp paprika
- salt and ground black pepper
Method
- Preheat the air fryer to 200°C.
- Carefully cut the sweet potatoes into 1cm/½in thick chips, ensuring they are evenly cut to promote consistent cooking and crispiness. Keep in mind that shorter chips are easier to fit into the air fryer.
- Transfer the chips into a bowl, drizzle with oil, and sprinkle with dried oregano and paprika, if desired. Season with salt to enhance crispiness and pepper for added flavor.
- Arrange a single layer of chips in the air fryer, making sure not to overcrowd them to ensure even cooking. Air-fry for 8 minutes, turning them halfway through until they are golden and crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. If they are not fully cooked, continue to cook in one-minute increments until desired doneness is achieved.
- Cook the chips in two or three batches until all are ready, then return them to the air fryer to heat through for 30 seconds.
- Serve immediately, garnished with additional seasoning and a sprinkle of paprika, if desired.
Enjoy your delicious homemade sweet potato fries!
